Kinda funny that Ford is mocking them when they started in a similar way. Constant changes to make cars easier to assemble and a focus on vertical integration.  I don’t get all the negativity on Tesla or why anyone would cheer for the most American car company in existence to fail. They are a very young company that

I pick up the Disco Volante tomorrow afternoon. I’ll let you know about the quality of the car and the delivery experience.

Yeah, I think the short sellers out there are honestly going to be wrong about Tesla going bankrupt anytime soon. They’ve just built out too strong of a brand and really do have a significant cost and production capability advantage on the battery side of things that’ll genuinely help them stay afloat in the years to

Truly GM deserves credit for building a car sufficiently undesirable to make it easily available with such low production numbers

GM has been trying for the past 50 years to do that.

GM was offering employee pricing through 12/31/17.

Most of the EV parts in the Bolt is made by LG in Korea (including battery cells, battery pack, electric motor, power electronics, onboard charger, DC-DC converter, instrument cluster, infotainment). That’s why some people say it’s more a Korean car than a American one. In particular, the battery production capacity

“What problems ramping up the Bolt?”

I think the reason is most people automatically assume that GM is making more Bolts than Model 3s, when Tesla is making drastically more. Very few people know the Bolt is limited to about 30k per year because of issues ramping up battery production from GM’s supplier (LG).

They must have gone full Gung Ho on this one.

It’s interesting to watch so many here shitting on Tesla, a company arguably more American than GM, yet not a peep is mentioned about the trouble GM is having ramping up the Bolt.

“Another worker speaking after the 5,000th car was made described the factory as a “mass celebration.””

Good car. I like Elon, he makes me laugh.”

As much as I love Tesla, I’m holding off on buying even when they’ve been telling me I could order my 3 a month ago. A used S with free supercharging at a similar price point makes more sense to me as I can inspect the damn thing before they put my name on it. Being in the Bay area I’ve seen way too much Teslas with

Tesla originally sought permission for a gigatent, but Nevada was concerned they would take over the world and wouldn’t t approve it.

Nuclear has the potential for catastrophic death and mayhem, but oil and coal has resulted in magnitudes more deaths, and the potential - global warming - for unimaginable havoc.

Nuclear generated power already accounts for 20% of the electricity that charges a Tesla in the US, and 26% in Europe.

Ha! USAF to Ford, “Hey, hold my beer. Let me show you something really crazy!”

Tesla engineers liked the guy’s joke and incorporated it (notably not even the same drawing). The guy also sold some merch which Musk literally made infamous. I’m with Tesla on this one, that tweet exchange is clearly from someone just out for money. I don’t think they’ll get any, it’s a flimsy argument.
