yea I totally agree with the need to turn this game from a spreadsheet into a primal experience. problem is... it’s designed to be a spreadsheet. : ]

yep, and if the story is primal enough it works. the problem is that this story is not nearly primal enough. it’s got too much info. it doesn’t work 100% visually, if the game expects you to do specific things. action sequences in movies and sometimes whole movies can work 100% visually. games can do this even better.

definitely a problem in AAA games with a lot of stuff going on. but if you want to get rid of all these breadcrumbs you have to have gameplay mechanics to support it. you can’t expect for ex a player to follow a story line, or know what he’s supposed to do, without explaining that. if you let people adventure
