PC is definitely an afterthought for Sony, so I’m not sure I’d call it much of a change in their overall business strategy. They still aren’t going to release games on Xbox and Switch which are their primary competition.

PC is hardly agnostic; apart from a tiny minority of pure Linux users, PC gamers are overwhelmingly running Windows, which means MS is not only getting a significant number of windows licensing sales, but also game pass subs. PC is not a significant direct competitor to consoles, but it is heavily tilted in MS’s favor…

This isn’t the end of exclusivity. This is (potentially) the end of MS exclusivity. Sony will continue doing exclusives into perpetuity because it’s been working for them and they have no reason to change unless their market share starts to drop.

Why would they? They are the ones breaking record sales this year. Xbox is struggling to compete with a 8 year old console.

These types of entertainers do a tenth of the work the people who make the games they profit off of playing and get paid thousands of times more.
