I wish I had back all the money I spent collecting much lower-quality toys in the late 90s (that are now essentially worthless) so I could focus on things like these now.

The DC Super Powers toy line from the early 80s was fantastic, pretty much equal to the other big Kenner line of the time. They had a number of more obscure characters, and had a wide variety rather than multiple variants of the same core figures. The early figures from Batman, The Animated Series are also amazing,

well, I just finished "California" by Edan Lepucki last night during the epic Austin thunderstorm. I really enjoyed it, it was well-paced, with a few interesting twists, and a very grown up, nuanced dystopian setting and response.
