Am I crazy or is the right front wheel on backwards compared to the left ones, as well?
That’s what I first spotted.

The paint face was the first thing I noticed, but then the scowling dude in the (viewer’s) right headlight demanded my full attention.

Picked mine up with 160k miles 5 years ago for $3,000. Needed a motor mount, AC compressor, and a window regulator.

It sits at 215k miles and is the most reliable car I’ve ever owned. It just did its first autoX last month without issue.

They are one of the least loved Sis for good reason, but they are GREAT cars.

“Now, I don’t know if the seventh-gen Civic Si could be considered a truly rare car”

Based on current registration numbers, there are fewer 03 Civic Si’s in America than 03 S2000s. And the Civic model only lasted 4 years where the S2000 was produced for a decade.

Your take on oil sounds plenty reasonable to me. I just mean to point out that oil grade upsells are one of the ways they make their money, too. You may only be saving $5 on a conventional oil change, but most manufacturers now recommend synthetic blend or full synthetic (For Turbos like you said, but also to allow for

Very good points and I will never fault anyone for valuing their time and non-oil stained clothes more than the savings of DIY oil changes.

But once you start wanting synthetic oil, and a better-than-fleet-grade filter, or a guarantee that the drain plug doesn’t get forgotten by a rushed and underpaid “tech” those

Oh man, being able to drive the Green and Blue Eclipse/Civic/EveryTunerCarFromTheEarly2000's ripoff from Burnout in a modern sim is another point in favor of a PC sim rig build over a PS5 in my future.

Due to my reserve pickup being clogged, my old motorcycle’s range was roughly 100mi. This was mildly annoying on long trips having to stop so often, but for around town it was rarely an issue.

With longer charge times vs refueling, a 100 mile range would suck for say, Atlanta to Charlotte, or a trip up to the blue

This is an interesting story, for sure. But there is zero chance I would have clicked on it if it weren’t for that killer headline. Brava!

Does it have reverse? I know. So why not? I know it’s hardly necessary as motorcyclists have been fine without reverse forever, but I sure did look like a dork struggling to back uphill when my bike outweighed me by ~375 lbs. And it presumably adds no complexity to an electric drivetrain, right?

I’m sorry, did you say uninspiring... Like an RX-7!? I love this electric crate motor idea! But that I cannot abide!

Unless you were being funny, in which case. Ignore me.

I would love to electrify some of the older cars I’ve owned and had to move on from for whatever reason. The FC RX7 and a 4ws Prelude come to mind

David,

If I remember correctly, the vin or equivalent of the game cars often included the real life chassis code of the real-world equivalent cars.

I bought Tokyo Extreme and Auto Modelista on the same day. I remember it well, when my Dad told me he would buy me one game and I successfully argued the cost of these two used games equaled one new.
Those two and Ace Combat are the only PS2 games I could never bring myself to sell and still have sitting in my basement.

“DOM! It’s nearly absolute zero degrees out there and there’s no oxygen, you can’t go!”

Agreed. The mechanical nature of it was what set it apart from the other 4ws systems. It also added predictability since you didn’t have to remember what the computer would decide based on the speed or whatever. X amount of steering input always equaled Y angle at the rear. The reason no one else does it is some

Re: The massive rear hatch. Since at least part of the brake/tail lights are required to be on a non-moving piece of the body, won’t this design HAVE to change before production? Or am I misinterpreting the body line?

Way easier, actually. You can just go in at a really steep angle and straighten it out when you’re practically on the curb.

Though I learned to drive in a 4ws Prelude and had to RE-learn how to drive in a normal car so it would probably take getting used to the other way around as well.

I actually got points off on my

My wife’s car.

A long-time friend from high school and I finally completed a trip that was YEARS in the making. Back in college, we were taking our twin 4th gen Preludes on our first trip to the Tail of the Dragon for my birthday. The trip went great... for me. My buddy’s car had a bad CV axle and was abandoned on the side of the
