So just zip the file and you're good to go? HASH checks generally verify integrity of a file, fairly easy to make the file fail a hash check. I'd recommend zipping it with a text file or something to make sure you change the length of the entire file.

Well, we have to consider that we are not getting a "top-down" view of the solar system. There's a strong possibility we're viewing it at some odd angle where the planet could have just passed in front of the star.

That planet looks massive in relation to the parent star, and is orbiting very closely... a "hot jupiter", I assume?
