Edwin Hawkins is amazing, but he represents the class of gospel singers who helped make California gospel big after the industry shifted from Chicago. While he did sing classic Chicago gospel songs, the story of California gospel is a bit removed from the Chicago history represented on Coloring Book.

Despite the fact that these shows were popular when they were on the air, there aren't DVD/VHS sales that point to a growth in fanbase or profitability since they were taken off the air.
