I feel like that actress has played backup parts in the show before too which was super distracting. I think she was a nurse in S2

I think she will! Her face at the end of the episode made it clear she hadn't firmly decided to side with Danny.

gender is a spectrum

IDK, i kind of applaud them for being able to show the freakouts new dads have when they have a kid beyond the standard "I have to wakeup and change this thing in the middle of the night???" that most sitcoms go with. there's more psychological stuff at play and I think Danny is nailing it, but hey, if by the end of

I think it's a way of showing how Danny is freaking out about raising a kid, but his fears won't be valid. Just like he was afraid of marriage, but Mindy and his mom got him to change his mind. This is his current fear, but he'll realize things will be different with him and Mindy.

I mean, she didn't really cave to his "you need to have a natural birth" demand, she just went into labor when she wasn't expecting it. Also, when he was like "don't go outside" she did anyway, she did what she wanted and was very angry with him for having a nannycam. It's also very clear that she's still debating

will add that the "He still says hi to every person he passes! This is New York, there are so many people! He was 3 hours late to work yesterday!" line was hilarious

This was the first ep of the season that didn't hit for me, again, I loved the Danny/Mindy stuff, but the Southern brother/sister duo just feel like more dead weight in the office. I usually love the actor playing the brother, but his character here just didn't do anything for me.

It goes beyond comedy tropes, it's a racist trope that goes back to the labeling of black women as "sapphires" its roots are not based in comedy, they're based in racist stereotypes. Jones doesn't even portray this stereotype with any nuance. I'd recommend you read a book called "Sister Citizen" that breaks down

well continually playing/perpetuating the angry black woman trope isn't funny…

i loved this show. i love this show. it doesn't stand up on repeated viewings

WHAT THAT DIDNT GET RENEWED?

Yea, that's what everyone is saying. The kid just looked like the same kid who played young Andre last season

good call

again, makes sense.

It was a question about the premise of the movie. I got an answer very quickly. I'm not particularly interested in reading the book or seeing the movie, but it was a question that popped into my head when I heard about the premise.

you are so white

Also, yeah, I had no idea who Kelly Rowland was supposed to be. I thought that was young Andre and I was like "did he murder this woman or something as a kid?"

I think now that Andre is out, they'll bring Anika back into the fold. Cookie and Anika teaming up would be so powerful and awesome.

"If he watches Girls, he wants to talk to me about Girls and that makes me want to kill him"
