Interesting. I’m Jewish and from a family of Holocaust survivors. The question of whether a superhero was Jewish or not and what his powers had to say about his Jewishness never seemed of particular significance to me.

What a silly thing to say. We’ve had nothing but baby boomer infused 60s and 70s nostalgia for decades. It makes perfect sense that it would be Gen X’s turn.

That attitude will run United out of business. You can be “right” all the way to the poorhouse.

And they will go out of business for doing it this way.

And they will pay the price. Sometimes stamping your foot on your legal “right” will cost you so much by way of social sanction that you would have been better off not doing it.

There are all sorts of things that are technically legal, but for which you will suffer crippling social sanction — including economic costs — if you do them.

And if you behave as this company did and as the police did, you will find yourself sued until you are living in a box under a bridge.

I wonder what their sense of humor will be like after they get slapped with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of lawsuits for acting like a bunch of brownshirts towards a 70 year old man and lose? And they will lose. Big.
