Every single player starts their journey in the same galaxy. They’re not randomly distributed.

Funny that you’d mention planetary rotation, another feature promised during development, but quietly cut without comment.

Murray often compared NMS’s multiplayer experience to Journey’s multiplayer experience. Meaning that you’ll rarely catch a glimpse of someone else playing, it’s not common, but it can happen and you can see each other.

Guess what Journey was listed as on the back of the box, 1-player!

“[B]ecause that’s the first time you’ll see what your character looks like. Apparently it’s something special and not just a human.”

Pointing at the back of the box isn’t even an argument in your favour. Throughout development Murray likened NMS’s multiplayer experience to that of Journey, where very rarely you might catch a glimpse of another player playing the game. Or to Dark Souls where you’ll “encounter” other players through messages, or a

How so? Because in the countless times Murray used the phrase “multiplayer game” he uses it to mean a game FOCUSED on multiplayer.
For example he says in many of his interviews that; NMS isn’t a multiplayer game, but you will be able to cross paths with and see other players.

It’s funny to me how people keep bringing up that one tweet, without acknowledging the second one. Or - more importantly - what Murray actually means by “multiplayer game”.

The tweet IS NOT “very clear”.
Saying “it’s not a multiplayer game” =/= “it has no multiplayer”.
