Huh? That’s like saying room temperature is nearly the boiling point of water.

I’m gonna point that they came to Feig. He wrote the film that he wanted to write. I can’t imagine it would be a better film if the studio said, “No, you can’t do the thing that you know you can make work, you have to do this thing which you aren’t excited about.”

Sulu, along with Kirk, Uhura, Spock, Bones, Chekov and Scotty, are beloved characters. Having one of them “come out” as gay is a much more powerful statement about the normalcy of being gay than cooking up some new crew member in whose story the audience has no investment.

Because making an existing character gay gets them a lot more press than adding a new gay character. Sad as it is to say, it really is all about money and press.

You can honor someone who doesn’t want to be honored.

To my recollection, Sulu never mentioned having a wife.

There’s something about he Finnish language that lends itself to this type of speech pattern. I have worked with a number of Finns in the past and the majority of them have this type of cadence. Only after you consume large amounts of adult beverages do you get them to change their speech pattern to something more

I’m just surprised that Jalopnik runs this article without jumping to Tesla’s defense.
In the past, the Gawker empire has appeared to lick the musky balls almost as hard as they’ve fondled their apples. What has changed? No more Tesla ads?

Tesla lost both the libel suit, the malicious falsehood suit, and the appeal, and ended up paying BBC a small fortune in legal compensation.

Ms Venkman is young (you can tell her).
My first big news was the Kennedy assassination.

The news agencies seem to be falling for “internet pranks” at a higher rate than email pen-pals with deposed Nigerian Princes.

I’ve never understood why basic sanitary supplies designed to keep us from bleeding all over everything would still be considered luxury or non-essential.

You guys knew what you were doing with that picture. Don’t even try to deny it.

All I could think of what what a waste that was - not a single of those school buses were full of school children!

Probably won’t have semis cutting across the racetrack (and sadly we’ve seen human drivers have crashes with equipment on the track as well).

This reminds me of some IT sysadmins

As a product designer I’d love to hear of a situation where an end user deserves contempt because I’ve never seen one. No matter how frustrated I may be I’m designing for the end user, they owe me nothing and are under no obligation to use the product as I think they should.

I refuse to go to giant movies until they start casting actual giants in the roles.

I’m not an American (although I live here), and I haven’t heard about the BFG either. Except for this BFG, of course:

I trust people who don’t eat nougat... to have bad mouth hygiene and lots of tooth fillings.
