The older dolls had a heavy string threaded through their neck hole, so it was possible to take off the head (to wash/set the hair, to replace a damaged head, or switch out the eyes) and easily knot it back down. The doll’s clothes hid the rather bulky but super functional string.

Wow, talk about passive-aggressive. If a friend or colleague ever did this, I’d dump them from my contact list. Why waste MY time calling somebody when they’ve deliberately made voice contact a hit or miss affair?

First, I still don’t understand people who don’t use their voicemail. But more importantly, you can call your phone company have them turn the option off.

I mean, I wouldn’t want to get rid of it entirely, just in case someone I do want to talk to leaves me a message that they wouldn’t have otherwise texted or emailed me. But Google Voice-style voicemail transcription should be everywhere so you don’t have to actually listen to it.
