I think the core problem here really is the extremely slow pace of the criminal justice system. It should not have taken 3.5 years for a case with such clear evidence to move from arrest to conviction.

He wasn’t indicted until early 2016, and didn’t go to trial until November 28th, 2016. He never expected to face charges and prosecution.

I’m having difficulty understanding Margaret Cho’s perspective here. It sounds like Tilda was up front about the issues, expressed her desire to do something about it and sought advice from someone who is in a good position to provide it. And Cho’s responses were thoughtful and measured as well. Not sure what got lost…
