Tires are the most important, but I don’t think I’d say they’re always the first upgrade. Lots of cars have perfectly adequate tires already installed, but could benefit from modifications elsewhere. My Mazda 3, for instance, is safe and competent at street speeds in most conditions, but feels kinda floppy even at

My logic is that you should load your trailer for the speeds you’re going to be traveling, not that you should always drive 75 MPH with a trailer. The problem I’m trying to avoid is people saying “my car is rated for 3,000 lbs in Europe, so I’m gonna do that” but then driving it with the flow of traffic in the US.

Interesting truck, nice-looking camper. But a few lines in the article were jarring to me:

You are wrong, and encouraging dangerous behavior. Towing is often limited by what the rear suspension can handle, not what the engine can keep cool at. And the difference between US and EU tow ratings is tongue weight.

But you won’t be able to see their ultimate response, because sometimes when you load Jalopnik you’ll get a full-window ad pushing the content off the bottom.

The Fit? Why not the Civic hatch which it is most similar to, and I would take over this thing any day of the week?

Are those numbers correct? Is the automatic really 64 pounds lighter than the equivalent manual?

When we complain about NASCAR, we don’t mean to diminish the skill of the individual drivers or the raw performance of the cars. And if you’re somehow invested in the race ahead of time, with strong opinions about who you want to win, it can presumably be thrilling in the same way horse racing is - as the drivers

Also... Bumble Bees don’t sting. They bite...

Yeah, that was exactly my point. Ford went to the effort of collaborating with Michelin to make custom tires for this car, and nobody will care. They’ll try something else, whether it’s non-custom Cup 2's, or something else entirely.

Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s that Ford says have a Shelby GT350-specific tread pattern

You... I like you.

Crossovers are built on car platforms, too. If the sedans go away, there’s no reason we couldn’t have wagons made on the crossover platform with a lower suspension.

I’m not sure if this is a counterpoint or a corollary, but it’s important:

Wow. This really makes me want to trade in my perfectly good 3-year-old, not-paid-off Mazda 3 on a Focus ST. If I qualify for all the various rebates they’re stacking, I could do this with no change in monthly payment just by resetting my loan to five years and paying sales tax out of pocket.

I think your algorithms are broken. How is this still showing up in the main story feed a month later? All Jalopnik videos do this, but nothing else seems to.

Curious who you think used the quote first? The photo $kay posted has been making the rounds of the internet since 2007.

I didn’t know I needed a RAM Hellcat Express until just this moment.

That was, what, more than 10,000 words to say you’ve never even touched a real gun but nevertheless are terrified of them based on their portrayal in media? I totally understand the discomfort some people have around guns; they’re fetishized and can be very dangerous, and have no visible daily necessity like cars.

How is Alaska this time of year?
