As someone (white/male) who went through school not standing for the “pledge” due to my parents (and therefore mine by default) religious beliefs, I can tell you i rarely was given any problems, & when someone did bring it up, simply saying “I do not pledge my allegiance to any flag, symbols, or man, only God” ended…
