What’s the acceptable tone for responding to repeated, widely-broadcast hate speech? How much outrage is allowed in those circumstances, and how much contrition is it reasonable to expect from someone who made millions of dollars broadcasting hate speech to millions of people?

I’m not absolving him of the bigoted shit he said, just saying there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation as to why he’s not bending the knee immediately.

Once again, stupid motherfuckers run their mouths about “free speech” with NO understanding of the concept. If someone says some offensive shit, and the public rejects that stupid shit, that’s still free speech.

It’s not enough for his parents to have to pay. HE needs to pay in some way. 

Let’s be real here. They’ll be offered early retirement, collect a pension, get hired by an adjacent town’s PD, and continue to be bad at their jobs.

Had those been regular cyclists, this story might not have been so big, the previous cyclists would have been hit there never got close to this press. However, they were training for an Iron Man level event (forgot the name) with bikes worth several thousands and likely have the means/connections to keep this a bigger…

A white coal-roller in Texas is part of an in-group with police, and not to be bound by the law. Cyclists are “environmentalists”, an out-group not be afforded protection by the law.
