Depending on when you decide to start savings, you essentially lose whatever time it takes to fund that initial deposit. On the other hand, each $15 investment “matures” every 12 months.
I would recommend noting that the source article says that investing ~$5500 every year is what results in the ~$700k nest egg. The way you have it written, it seems like just that initial investment of $5500 grows into the $700k.
It’s obvious that the math doesn’t work out for the latter but for clarity’s sake...
When I was offered my position last year, they offered $80k and 2 weeks vacation. I then asked for $85k and told them I currently received 4.5 weeks vacation. They immediately accepted the $85k and we negotiated to 3 weeks vacation.
Cutting plywood without a circular or table saw is rough going. A basic circular saw will set you back no more than $40 and will open you up to a lot more projects. However, if acquiring one isn’t possible, you could conceivably make the cuts with a hand saw but the job would take forever and you probably wouldn’t…
