I always thought that was a natural development. Cylinders got bigger again—after the early, early days of 7-liter I6's—as cars and power expectations grew again. It’d seem obvious to go to a combination of smaller engines, perhaps with cylinder-on-demand tech, and hybrid powertrains.

Mmmmm gotta love that capitalist efficiency.

Lemme clarify things for the OP: name 3 good things that Drumpf has done. Speed of policy production is no indicator of the quality of policies produced.

...Lack of refueling infrastructure? I thought that was the well-known problem with H2-powered cars?

They’re less energy-efficient overall, too, but that first issue is the big one. Considering the stranglehold Hyundai maintain on the KDM, it’s surprising the Korea’s hydrogen refueling infrastructure is even a bit back

Much though I love cars, there’s just no getting past the fact that even in the hypothetical never-happens scenario of every seat in a group of cars being occupied, they take up more area than a train for the same number of people. Short of walking or bicycling, trains are the most space-efficient means of moving

We’re not talking about gay marriage, or government spending, or drug policy, or healthcare, or whatever. We’re talking about making available or not available tools which are—let me repeat—specifically designed to at a minimum seriously injure, and more often kill another human being.

I’m waiting for the NRA to judge themselves. No matter the killer’s motivation or his mental state, a gun is always going to make his job easier. Therefore anyone that promotes the allowance of gun ownership is anathema to me. I’m sure that a lot of NRA members are very nice people, and as we can all justify anything,

You’re right; doing that kind of thing is called the ecological fallacy. However, if that ends up saving more lives than the alternative—which at this point, sorry, but the numbers back me up—I’m totally fine with it.

There’s no defense of gun ownership. Guns are specifically designed to take lives—defensively or otherwise. If you need to cripple someone to defend yourself, get a knife, or a heavy pan, or a bat, or a monkey wrench, or pepper spray, etc.

I’ll also note that I don’t know any Nazis or rapists personally, and I hate all

That you’re ashamed to say it is telling; and ashamed you should be.

So, what do we do if we allow a privilege to a group of people, and some of those people abuse that privilege? We take it away. This “right” to gun ownership is as constructed as the “right” to own slaves, and equally removable. And why are you holding your right to expensive toys—which, by the way, were invented for

I’m saying this to you because I have the luck of not knowing any NRA members in real life: fuck you.

Welcome to late stage advanced capitalism, where the only thing that matters is your exchange value.

This is one of the benefits of good regulation—to provide certainty, to consumers and businesses. If I (customer or business person) know that regulation will create environment X such that product A will best serve my needs over a long period of time, then I can know to keep buying or producing product A and its

Nothing more saccharine than wishing something would die to have it, then, persist out of sheer spite.

Kawaiidesu ne! Amiriteoramirite.

Just wondering, how does a positive void coefficient square with passive cooling systems? I know that the latter are relatively newer, and there are few enough PVC designs around that the question may be (for my lay purposes) academic, but I’m curious about these things.

Hey, resident Mazda PR guy, quick O/T question you may or may not know the answer to.

Seriously; having a Forester, I realize just how much more of a pain it is changing spark plugs in flat engines than in inlines or V’s.

To my eyes, the big MB coupe lost all distinctiveness when redesigned into its current form. The previous 2 generations of CL’s were big and imposing, but also somewhat anonymous, but in a way that cars just aren’t anymore; it was all about size and proportion, and on those cars, they were grand.
