I certainly feel that way. We’re all comfortable with TouchID and the two 7 and a 7+ certainly don’t feel dated in any way. In fact, iOS 12 gave them quite a refresh.

The X itself is future proof for years to come if you want it to be. My son is still using an SE just fine. It’s definitely not worth the money but I guess if you are set on upgrading no amount of sense is going to stop you. Hopefully you can sell the X for a decent price.
