Tho there was some projection going on, too, wasn't there, where she was pretending to be someone she didn't really feel she was in terms of her background? and expecting him to be a stereotyped "Prince Charming?"

Yes! And she did it every day!!!

Laurel's father is a high governmental official in cahoots with Wesley Snipes on The Player! Crossover!!

Superficially but when their own power & reputations are their main concern, it's really very very sad.

Yes, I took it off dvr after this week, too. Love the real Kerry Washington in all her appearances, from public service to talk show guest to red carpet, and hope she has her choice of great movie roles after this.

"Emotional politics"!!!!! Yes, yes. Wish they would let there be a brilliant, kind witty non murdering Black Man not planted by Rowan so Olivia can experience lust and trust & overcome her Father Issues.

Second episode develops the characters & their relationships exponentially. Jennifer Carpenter, Ron Rifkin & Blair Brown made me forget they were actors I'd seen before. The case of the week was weak, especially if you like to have enough clues to figure it out first yourself.

Hope the reviewer reads this and is inspired to read the book, and some history!

Yes, it's even in the picture above: "THE LATE SHOW with"

Did you ever see "the Manchrurian Candidate?"I;d almost rather have all the characters turn out to be imaginary than have one of the ladies Elliot hacks to protect(Angela, his shrink, Shayla) turn out to be his handler/brainwasher!

I think she was always like this, just quiet around the bosses. she always seemed full of herself.

I think that's some descendants of the Plymouth Massachusetts Tribe used to call it in their annual action.

I see what you did there with "a new identity." Angela is split, too. She may not have been allowed into FunSociety, she may be in denial about Darlene's politics and Eliot's paranoia about EvilCorp(or she may be well aware), but she has to have realize that she and her Dad will benefit personally from the debt-wiping

She seems the same to me as always: trying to project strong confidence and decisiveness when scared, threatened or challenged, motivated primarily by her own self-interest, but with a soft spot for her childhood friends. Remember her angry/poutty but silent demeanor when she was kicked out of the meeting & Eliot

Depending on who does the captions, they can be fullof good guesses and/or obvious mistakes. I turn them on whenever I miiss a very quick often accented phrase or name & nine times out of ten it's missing from the captions too. Btw some shows captioners do give you the " foreign language" dialogue in that language!

But it wasn't there, because it was taken out when Elliot took Tyrell to see FunSociety? possibly by Mr. Robot, who knows how to wave a gun?

Tho it does show "good intentions." Darlene & the boys are still reflecting the part of Elliot that didn't want to blow up Steel Mountain/kill for a good cause. FunSociety's plan philosophy may be simplistic, naive and/or easily co-opted by the forces of Evil, but it doesn't rationalize murder assassination or

She's wary & suspicious. Surely the writers will let her connect the dots. After all, the guy that hired her was the one who dissed her/excluded her from the Secure meeting in favor of Elliot, and she knows they know all about her connection to him & Darlene——through the lawsuit/parent deaths even if they didn't do

If she really has no idea Elliot or Darlene have any FSociety sympathies and/or hacker skills & no clue that Evil chose her for her longtime close connection to them….then her steely resolve in chastising Elliot for defending her to Evil midlevel Boss in the meeting, standing up to cynical daydrinking lawyer,

If only they'd cut to the baby in the carriage staring up at Elliot with Elliot's eyes.
