By how quiet they claim it to be and being able to run on a cordless battery, it's gotta be DC. The battery backups we used to install for the AC powered Liftmaster elites were freakin huge.

You realize that's the highest HP rated residential garage door opener in the world right? They've been 1/2hp and less for 40 years. 3/4hp is an upgrade and still more than you need. The springs lift the door, not the opener.
