I definitely think the brother and whoever the brother brought with him are responsible.  I watched the rebroadcast too, and right after they've confronted Strokeface but before he's put in the car, Ben's on the phone with someone saying "If you have any questions, let me know."

Yeah, that's how grief works for a lot of people.  After the initial shock, you can go hours or even days before you finally break down and when you do, it's often over the littlest thing, some small memory that just breaks through your barriers no matter how you've built them up.  It felt very real to me.  Maybe not

@avclub-c9e3da9f8710cefd2d6ef8629f6a5269:disqus Sure, Sammy should've destroyed the tape.  But exactly the opposite of what Ben should have done is hire some people connected to one of his girlfriends to break into his friend's house, trash the place, and make it look like Strokeface's crew.  Even if the babysitter

Yeah, I flipped over from Southland only to find an unfinished episode of The Americans.  So I muted it and tried to pay just enough attention to know when the episode was over / restarting without seeing the end, but it didn't quite work.  Boo.  Just start your shows at the hour, FX!

I'd forgotten all about Shaq!  I hope his appearance is not terrible.

It's getting to the point where I worry before every episode of Southland that THIS is going to be the episode where something terrible and irreversible happens to one of my beloved characters and it breaks my heart.   Everything is spiraling down for everyone and it's all terrible and so well done.

I suppose it would've had a pretty good shot on FX, but I'm still just glad TNT picked it up at all.  Even if it's cancelled too soon (sigh) the run it's had on TNT has been just fantastic.

Yeah, that's definitely more of a commenter joke than a website official joke.

Congratulations, Jason!

Not an easy watch.

Awwww.

Who?

Nothing to see here.

Yes, but until this one I didn't realize it was confirmed for a second season.  So, yay!

I loved Lucero checking her out and Dewey all "EYES FORWARD, MISTER."

Dewey's really coming into his own this season.  I love all the shading they're giving him without changing the core essence of his character at all.  He becomes more interesting every week.

Yeah, my first thought was a Fuck You, and I wouldn't be at all disappointed if that's what it was, but I do also like the idea of it being something calmer and more in control, just to show the asshole that nothing he says will shake John.  Even if it does shake him.

That, or Jared Leto's a sociopath and we all just didn't know.

We need to talk about Kevin's ear.

How is your first thought not "I need to turn this severed body part over to the police immediately in case someone somewhere is hurt or dead"?
