I thought the same thing!  How did they get the Mad Hatter for a film in 2012?  That's incredible!  Oh…

1933, so pre code's real enforcement, at least.  That was actually the focus of most of the discussion for that film; it was an introduction to films class, so we really only scratched the surface.

I really enjoyed Wreck-It Ralph, as did, it seemed, the theater-goers around me.  I also somehow managed to go the entire film without realizing Alan Tudyk was King Candy!  I was surprised by how much focus the Sugar Rush world got and how a film about video game characters was able to raise such high, legitimate

I'm reading Who Could That Be At This Hour? by Lemony Snicket because apparently I want to be twelve again.  Actually, that's not fair; I generally like all of Handlers stuff quite a bit.

We watched Ann Vickers in my (one) films class in college, and I remember being surprised that a film from the 1930s dealt with abortion, no matter how subtly.  I was even more surprised when a good chunk of my classmates didn't realize that she'd had an abortion at all.

I enjoyed the ads for Twilight during the episode, if only for the cheesy looking werewolf-off.

Conrad, I've got bad news.

I like the way they're folding Sherlock's small character moments into the larger mystery plot.  First it was the texting, which seemed like a nice little throwaway but wound up helping Watson find him.  Now we've got the sand, which helped indicate to Watson that something more was going on with Sherlock while still
