That was actually my first thought, but then I thought Rumple had the dagger until he gave it to August when he thought August was Baelfire?  I may be misremembering.

To me, that actually adds a little more credence to the idea that he is Baelfire.  He could've read the book not long after he got to the 'real' world and picked up a fake name from it?

So, bets on what's in the box?  (What's in the boooooooox?)  My money's on Henry's book.  It would make sense if Pinnochio created the book in the first place, right?  Including why he knew how to make the new pages and why he left out his own story to begin with.
