I also liked "Despite vodka’s reputation as a flavorless spirit". Vodka is flavorless by definition. Zubrowka is a flavored vodka, hence why it has flavor.

I also believe it's technically inaccurate to refer to a specific fruit brandy (other than grape) as just "brandy". The title should be "A salute to rye whiskey and apple brandy".

Well you know, American as apple pie -> apples -> apple brandy. I think?

I turned my adblocker back on for this site, and it's showing an infinity sign for number of ads blocked…I didn't know that was even a thing.

Well he always wanted to pronounce it Nay-boo, but he didn't have the capability at the time. He'll be using advanced technology to re-dub the pronunciation for the special editions.

I'm trying a new strategy where instead of blocking people from my feed, I block certain "news" sources. I don't see insane articles that have been liked by thousands if not millions of people, I just see my weird cousin writing ridiculous rants at 3 in the morning. This way it's almost kind of cute instead of

I dunno, people who say that made Adam Sandler famous.

I didn't say SNL is bad now, I still really like it. I said people seem to judge the quality of SNL based on Weekend Update. Easy jokes about awful people just makes the current situation more sad.

Ugh, I HATE it when fiction turns out to be not true.

I was going to suggest restraint for a show we know very little about. Then I found Jackie Clarke's blog. She's since deleted it, but thanks to the Wayback Machine:

I'm not saying hearing someone's story who was raised by a piece of shit father and his mail order bride isn't worth while. And being an apologist for a piece of shit parent is far too common a symptom for a victim of a poor parent.

I dunno, I grew up with Will Ferrel, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Ana Gasteyer, Molly Shannon, and Darrell Hammond. I was 13 during the 2000 presidential election. It was a pretty funny time.

I also was unaware Elmo had a dad. Maybe it's a recent development?

I have worked in the service industry for years, and even though I was technically at a "classy" establishment I was never upset if someone didn't tip for a take out order, unless the order was so ridiculously complicated I had to enter what I called "hostage negotiations" with the kitchen or spend entirely too much

Maybe none of this would be that distracting if the show was making me laugh. I hope this show finds its footing because the concept could (and should) be funnier/more interesting/generally better than it's playing out so far.

As awkward as the interplay between the live action and animation is, I'm finding the sound mixing even more jarring. Sometimes Zorn's voice seems to be coming from a PA system or something.

Very interesting, even if that article glazes over his past with hedge funds. He seems (to me) to be an extremely intelligent man with a fatal need to be noticed.

Explain please (actually interested).
