i am not a rom com person but i watch love actually as a tradition with my family. and now... just cuz. It’s the music, the comfort, and yeah it’s not that I disagree with the comment pointing out everything bad with it... but.. I do disagree

Glad I wasn’t the only one.

I just think its interesting that the very point she was making in her speech (women, don’t you dare get old!), explains her very motivation for her actions (that you and Paglia seem to find offensive). It’s different for women, and your post completely illustrates that point.

But what does it mean to be “dignified” and why is okay to police behaviour and sexuality of those who are X age? Why should she uphold societal expectations and definitions of dignity instead of resisting and doing what she chooses? Why was Prince’s sexuality always a positive and not hers?

I dunno...I can think of three reasons...

He’s the main reason to watch season two of Scream Queens.

Yes. I mean, this week’s episode it looks like they circle back on the whole Josh thing, but who doesn’t instagram stalk their ex-boyfriend when they have a new flame...? I mean, I don’t. ;)

I never ever comment here and only lurk, but this show consistently amazes me with its brilliance, and I need to share that with people who understand. The songs are just so, so good. The characters are so complex. I have been trying to get everyone in my friend/co-worker/family circle to watch to no avail, so now

I’ve really enjoyed it. I think it’s darker than last season (which is saying something, because the first season was plenty dark), and that might throw people who were watching primarily for the punchlines.

You can help make it up to us by being a great, hands-on role model to your sons, nephews, and every other young man in your life. It wouldn’t hurt if you became a Big Brother or did other volunteer work with young men. And also, when you hear boys/young men/grown men saying anything inappropriate about women,

“People who watch Hairspray but aren’t legit in their John Waters worship” is an unnecessarily specific sub-group of people to hate. I think you can just say you hate musicals, it will encompass everyone who enrages you.

You really aren’t as hip and cool as you think you are.

Same, I’m with you on that, I adored the movie version. And I expect to also adore the live version. Goddamn everyone’s in a foul mood on Jez/TheMuse today. I expect the live version will be on Hulu the next day, so you’ll be able to watch it if you’ve got it, right? Good luck navigating LAX, I believe in you!

I’m on team all Hairspray.

You’re not alone, I thought the movie was cute and fun too.

So I guess I am in the minority that actually liked the movie, as nothing more than cute, campy (seriously, SERIOUSLY campy!) fun. Zac Efron almost made me reconsider my firm stance against being a cougar! j/k I kid, I kid. But I was looking forward to the live event, but now I will be picking up my niece from the

I look more like Britney than this chick.

Ugh, the snark really isn’t necessary. Famous people are still people.

I’m not understanding the reason for the snark here?!?!

Shut up, Rich. Go away.
