Shame about NIO - they have some very good ideas regarding battery swapping and leasing. Hopefully, as Tesla goes into full production, NIO can ride the coat-tails. It’s my guess that this sort of jumpstart for the Chinese EV industry is what the government has in mind in its support for Tesla.

If I’m not camping off my motorcycle, I fly to the nice places, rent a car and break out the luxo tent for me and the little lady.  I think it’s for the best.  Drive 6000miles, desert, dirt, mountains, hose it off and hand it back.  Sweet.

On the stock price side of Tesla, the sharp rise looks like it’s driven by 2 simultaneous events: a short squeeze AND massive new investing. I’d expect some retreat, but not a fall off like a pure short squeeze. Hopefully the shorts get out and allow the stock to rise and fall on investor expectations and company…

I’m a big fan of simulated woodgrain, and think Tesla is missing a real opportunity.  I think it was ford that had a green cast simulated wood - magic.

I blame the Germans and their “corrective” ergonomics: Ze seats aren’t uncomfortable, it is you who are poorly designed.  If French cars created the modern car paradigm, we would all be a lot more comfortable - and of course, more interesting and well informed people.
