@flowerofhighrank: Ah. Me too! Hope GC stick around for the long haul and adds suppport for texting!

@bachya: Two people have already commented on how this is just like Dropbox, but neither of you have noted that Dropbox is NOT FREE if you want > 2gb. The very reason you'd want something to handle unlimited file size is because it's > 2gb. That's a feature of this software that physicist would call non-trivial.

Wow. Lots of belly-aching in this conversation. So you bought a $1.50 coupon worth $25 off, and you can't use that during a restaurant's prime dining times? Oh, and you can't combine multiple coupons on one meal? Yeah, boo and hiss. Those restaurants really are stingy.

@89macrunner: WRONG (at least in my case). If I had taken your advice I would've missed out on a great meal at a great price last night.

@silver-bolt: Couldn't agree more......the thumbs up! Mwahahahaha.

@zeusthrax: Haha. Good thing I'm already surfing through my DD-wrt router at home as my proxy already!

@snze: Except that the statement you quoted is WRONG. A hardware firewall keeps stuff out. It doesn't stop stuff that is already on your PC from getting info out. For example it won't keep spyware or bad websites from leaking your info out to the Internet.

@jadn: What do you mean you "should have waited another day". Was the update good or not? I have an e280 and I've been running an unofficial build for a while.

As the owner of a hackintosh myself, I've got to say that part of the fun is getting it to work, but only if that sort of thing appeals to you. Otherwise, save yourself some time, and skip this.

I think people like customizing their stuff, whether it be choosing options for their car, iPod accessories, or skins for their OS. If they want to spend time doing it, then let them be. It's *their* time.

This would be great, except what's not mentioned in all I've read is that the calendar created on the iCal side is limited to being read-only when used with sync programs like Missing Sync. I'm using a Palm Centro (yeah, I know, old tech, but it generally works great).

@brandon: no, it's a way of using your grand central phone number to manage your other phones.

@Troy F.: Whoa. I don't think anyone (in their right mind) would suggest you spend months training for something if you don't have any fun (unless you're a pro competing to earn a salary).

Marathoning as part of a reasonable fitness plan is not extreme and does not in most cases open you up to long-term damages.

@caedus: Haha, already been on that for a while. I tried the Plaxo method, but seemed a bit clunky. This seems more promising.

@Speedmaster: TrueCrypt is for password protecting entire drives or creating an encrypted area on a drive. This program works on individual files.

@OX4:I once bought a Samsung 226bw monitor that had the same problem when doing dvd playback in particular. It was because of the particular panel type used. I swapped it for the same model, got a different panel type, posterization gone! Just curious, which Samsung do you have?

rogerkaplan's method is the same one I use. A ripe pineapple is slick dudes! It's good to have a flat surface on the board for stability.

This bickering is silly. What we really needed to know to provide an answer to the OP's question was (1) what will the OP be using their computer for? (2) what is the OP's budget and (3) what has the OP used before and what OS is he/she already familiar with. All you people spouting feature lists are following your
