There it is! Thank you
I’m hyped to hell for the new album. The song Turn Out the Lights is amazing and she sounds fantastic on it. Sprained Ankle also got me... well, not through a pretty rough time but it was a welcome passenger during it.
Haha no I actually didn’t think of the Streets at all... I’m trying to remember who he reminded me of but I can only remember like his details - asian man doing an Elvis impression over industrial surf rock... I didn’t like that very much either but it sounded a lot more interesting.
I listened to the Krule album a little, didn’t really grab me. It felt like a.. less interesting version of something I’ve already heard and didn’t like much. So I’ll chalk it up as just not being for me
Well, its an ending
Nooo I love the Dont Trust the B theme, it’s so short and weirdly catchy
Always Foreign has felt way more cathartic than sad to me, I dare say it’s even been cheering me up
I can’t stop listening to anything but Always Foreign and then their other stuff (Formlessness is pretty good)
I used to do the same, though I would usually start and end them with the same songs each season and then keep trying to perfect it. The summer one always started with the Pete & Pete theme and ended with Dry the Rain
I’ve made so many mixtapes that begin with Untitled and ends with Otherside...
important: which version of Other Side of Mt Heart Attack? I mean they’re both amazing and I’m asking because I don’t know which one I prefer for mixtape making
anyone not answering Always Foreign is wrong, its Always Foreign
it like LA is the real bass player of St Vincent
THIS DUDE HAS HURT ME TO THE CORE
“Clayton Purdom—who also dislikes Cowboy Bebop”
they may be from Ohio but didn’t get good ‘til Brooklyn
It’s probably a toss up, they all hit real different spots for me. Fever to Tell has the best songs (I’ll go on record as calling Maps my all time fav song) even if the album itself isn’t all gold. Show Your Bones has intense nostalgia (listened to it a lot while learning to drive) and more focus and my favorite…
Weirdly I don’t even think of the Strokes when I think of the NY music... I know they were THE band but in my mind they just happened to be there. They didn’t have that dark brooding sound or the truly messy sound of Interpol or the National or YYYs
give in to the nycore
