is your comment Deadspin worthy? I mean ESPN has comments like this covered. I wanna see weird comments here.

So drinking and driving is just boys being boys, huh? And eluding the police is just some harmless Dukes of Hazards horseplay. We’ve all done that, right? And driving without a drivers licsense? Eh, it’s just paperwork. Don’t ruin the kid’s future athletic career over some childish mischief, right? Same shit,

Fuck the apology and him pretending it was an accident. He was barely aiming to make contact with the plate. It was so obviously intentional.

Complaints incoming. Dis gon b gud!

They treated it exactly like a hockey fight. Wait until they wear each other down...

There's a headline and gif with no story. Wouldn't really call that coverage.

It’s more interesting when you think about a) where Quintal is from, b) what team he spent 7 years of his career playing for, and c) who coached him while he played there.

I really enjoy how Canadiens fans are still locked in a blood feud with Chris Kreider and wholeheartedly believe he’s the sole reason for them not winning the cup last season, despite him not having any control over the Eller slash that actually sent him to the ice and into Price, but still vociferously support

Hmmmm....a guy with a very French-Canadien name that spent a huge chunk of his playing career with the Montreal Canadiens is electing to not suspend a Montreal Canadien player...

He got booted because its literally written in the rules, any injury resulting from a slash is treated as a major, which automatically adds on a game misconduct.

61.5 Game Misconduct Penalty – Whenever a major penalty is assessed for slashing, a game misconduct penalty must also be imposed.

Apparently a slashing major results in an automatic game misconduct. It’s an overblown rule to prevent intent to injure, but like you said, it also offers incentive to dive in a league that is trying to eliminate diving. As a Habs fan, I hate the call, and am glad they still won, but it was the “right” call.

It was a blatant attack on a player. He wasn’t trying to lift the stick or get the puck because 1: the puck wasn’t anywhere near him, and 2: he swung from above in an axe-wielding motion. If this was Matt Cooke, we’d all be screaming that this guy shouldn’t ever be allowed to play in the league again.

I’m pretty sure the rulebook says you have to give a game misconduct if you give the five minutes.

61.3 Major Penalty - A major penalty, at the discretion of the Referee based on the severity of the contact, shall be imposed on a player who slashes an opponent. When injury occurs, a major penalty must be assessed under this rule (see 61.5).

You’ve never actually looked at the MK cast, have you?

Kano is totally a bear.

Great. Here comes the HuffPo article about the "NEW VIDEOGAME THAT ENCOURAGES BRUTALLY MURDERING GAYS!"

She's like a meme factory. I am jealous.
