I think Cabin in the Woods is still my favorite movie of the year. It was just SO damn clever. And you're right, it had an f'ing amazing 3rd act.

It doesn't look like there are any 5 star items on this list.

Thor and Captain America were both 'dead' for several years worth of comics. I thin Johnny was well over a year, but Batman RIP was such a cluster-f..k that I have no idea how long that stuck.

Sorry. Here, have some fake lamb instead.

Question: one of my biggest pet peeves is that *everything* I do shows up in the ticker along the right side. If I 'like' a photo, my brother sees it and comments on it. I can't do anything on anyone else's status/photo/article without it showing up to all my friends.

That's kind of a stupid comparison. Clearly the caliber of the film maker has as much, if not more, impact on the quality of the movie than the subject matter. Look no further than Christopher Nolan's Batman vs Joel Schumacher's Batman.

Good, albeit tech-light, reviews. Thanks.

I think the point is that a satellite doesn't have to 'fling' it. It just has to release it (with calculated precision) back into earth's gravity, and the pull will do the rest. That's the elegant beauty of it.

That's what I was thinking, and it might have been carbon. (not carbon fiber).

Crowdsourcing for help:

Yup, just bought a new D3 modem from Costco, and saw immediate improvements in speed.

I have an ipad, but was seriously considering the Surface. After reading this, I didn't realize how much the tablet was lacking. The battery life is probably the biggest hit. I love that I don't have to plug my ipad 2 in every night. But based on the rest of this, it seems like the surface came out prematurely, and

Very funny, and very well done. But also ran a good 3 minutes too long.

The only thing the two shows share is a young, attractive cast. Beyond that, they're completely different. It'd be like comparing CSI: Miami to Law & Order: SVU, because they're both police procedurals.

That's the sort of immature, blanket statement that a 12 y/o would make.

Just 7 more years until Cameron owns it, then 7 more until he writes a script, then 7 more until he's done exploring the ocean (again) and comes back to movies. Then Avatar 5-7, then revisit the script, then more diving, then rerelease Titanic in holographic-digital theater, then wait for Ahnuld's clone to mature,

I disagree.

Why is Pacquiao having sex with Roach's wife in the first place?

As annoying as it might seem, it's actually refreshing not to have the whole movie outlined and spoiled 6 months before it comes out (TDKR, Avengers, etc). It's a rarity these days.

Not only that, but doesn't NYC at this point require the cabs to be a specific kind of vehicle? I think there's like 3 or 4 cars/suvs to choose from, and it has to be one of those.
