Maybe, but It's not the same. You can spar pretty well when you're training boxing or most other martial arts that don't involve weapons. But as soon as you pick up a blade, there's no way to have really good training. It's different. You can't not hold yourself back when you're swinging your sword at another person.

I absolutely love Borderlands. It's probably my favorite series. But no, it's not a good example. Borderlands 2 is basically Borderlands 1 with new levels and weapons. It's the same game. No major improvements. It's just an expansion pack.

But there's one problem: In real swordfighting, nobody actually got that much practice. Real practice comes with the real thing: fighting. And when you're fighting, if you make one mistake, you're dead. It's hard to practice with people who are better than you, like you'd do in any sport, because if they are better

I'm not "defending" him in that sense. I just meant that I got what he's saying and that I think I understand the kind of depth he's after in a game. I didn't want to imply it was an argument, or that you're wrong or something like that. Every game has depth. All that matters is if that's the kind of depth you like.

I didn't play VU, but in his defense, if you need to perfect every stage for the game to be challenging, then that probably means it's at least a bit shallow.

That's a great point and one that I feel not too many people can grasp, hence the great amount of hand-holding we've been having the last years.

It's not about bettering itself. It's about (hopefully) realizing that the consumer won't buy another broken Sim City. It's about trying to make even more money by giving the consumer what they want, instead of forcing them to deal with useless stuff they don't like.

I'm willing to bet a french fry that it wasn't actually the dev's fault. Probably orders from higher up (EA).

Nor should they, really.

If you took Super Mario Bros., replaced Mario with Lady Gaga and played "Bad Romance" in the background, would you have a Pop game?

You want it, don't you?

Price is rarely about the amount of material and work that went into the product. It's usually about how much people want it. For instance, there's absolutely no point in selling something for $10 if you know that people would gladly pay $80 for it. Unless you're a non-profit, of course.

Let's try not to sound too old with our "it was better in my day" statements, shall we?

Jango, I love you (and I hope you love us, potatoes, back), but Luke was just trying to be clear.

Meh, I don't feel like reading your response. Like I said, I give up. You win. Congratulations. You're smart. I'm dumb. I'm very humiliated right now. I don't think I can even go through another day.

"No shit he means that."

Don't get me wrong, I love RW and all of his work (at least all that 've come to know, expecially the live ones), but unfortunately the conditions of his death make it hard for a company that mostly produces family-friendly content to tie his name to one of their products. It could bring up good discussions, but those

It's an attempt from Nintendo to reach more mature audiences. Also, I don't know if you know that, but it will only be published by Nintendo. It's being made by Platinum, not Nintendo. It's not a Nintendo game.

No, he's saying that the scantily clad woman isn't supposed to be family friendly. Nintendo never said it were and that's the whole point. They want to reach a more mature audience with Bayonetta. This has nothing to do with anything though.
