At least when it all goes to shit the sun will still be "on." Can't say the same for the refinery plants. Maybe plan on taking one over.

What other material would you use that would have similar strength properties for its weight and cost? Rusting can be a real issue too, especially in snow ridden states and countries, and coastal areas.
Was going to retort but looks like everyone else has already called out your clear lack of understanding around how manufacturing works. Hope your holiday goes better though!
I literally said that you could call it an unfulfilled promise in my last post. But with EV technology and changes emerging as quick as they have been we should all expect companies like Tesla to pivot. Questions around ownership of the battery pack, what happens when your new pack gets swapped out for an old, having…
Well since it binds living things it would stand to reason that less living things means a higher concentration of the force per creature with each murder. Game logic checks out.
The bed cover retracts, and you’re left with a 6.5" bed. They pulled an ATV into it at the reveal and closed the tailgate. Plenty of room for most people’s hauling. Not all people, just most.
I pre-ordered one without shame, and I thought most of these tweets were freakin hilarious :).
The battery swap tech was built, but then abandoned because they decided it was better to focus the tech and investment in charger technology, which has grown significantly in that time. I guess though you can call that an unfulfilled promise.
The suspension was automatically lowering the rear and raising the front to help load the ATV. It wasn’t the weight of the ATV that was dropping the bed.
I think it’s arguably the BEST segment for electrification. It’s the least efficient class of vehicles, and the ones most in need of what electric motors can provide, torque.
I believe, though not 100% sure, that when you bring out the tailgate ramps it triggers the truck to automatically lower the rear and raise the front a bit to assist in loading/offloading. After the ATV was loaded in and the tailgate packed up, the truck auto-leveled.
I think there is a valid discussion to have in regards to whether or not the styling opportunity has missed its relevant window. Would a truck that looks like this have been better received 30 years ago? Perhaps. But that’s not the argument being made. Seems like this is more about whether or not it’ll be vaporware,…
Hey I’m all in to see what Ford comes out with. People are always clammoring though about how electric vehicles wont’ take off until they address the range issue, and a 500 mile range feels like the tipping point to negate that argument a lot. You probably aren’t going to get that with F-150 aerodynamics. That’s not…
They’re using similar tech to the Chevy Bolt’s mirror, that uses a camera in the back so represent the traditional rear view mirror perspective. That way whether the bed cover is down or up, you have the same view. I believe Chevy has also incorporated this tech into other vehicles. The main difference is that it…
Lol no you can’t.
Guess I don’t get the amount of skepticism here. It’s not even remotely close to building a flying car, which few would actually buy, and even fewer could actually operate. The truck market is a HUGE segment, and I think speculation around whether or not Tesla is actually going to product a vehicle for this market is…
Don’t disagree with most of that. I still think the person to which I originally replied didn’t watch the full unveiling, as there is nothing here that precludes you, as they put it, from throwing lumber or a piece of furniture in the back.
Why do you feel it can’t fill the F150 duties? Not many are hauling a 5th wheel with an F150. And this has the same bed space of the most popular configuration of F150 purchased. Did you miss the part of the reveal where the bed cover retracts and tailgate opens up? They fit a whole atv in there and closed the…
#1 let’s not pretend that any of the other reveals haven’t been full of awkward moments. The model 3 was similar, though a little more polished.
How much extra weight? It’s not like there are actuators, bags, compressors, or anything with height-adjustable suspension. Are the shocks with mag-fluid really that much more in weight?
