So do you win if the dinosaurs DO escape and kill everyone on the island, or if they DON'T?

That went out the door years ago. I'm surprised anyone still thinks of Google as a "cheerfully smiling monolith" - they've been reasonably despicable for some time now.

Yeah, I'd definitely agree that Less Than is quite stereotypical for NIN at this point, but it's a super well done stereotype. I remain quite fond of his overtly-radio-friendly tracks in general, but I think Less Than is one of the best he's ever produced.

I love herring but cannot stand the sour cream stuff. So much ick (though that's more to do with my general hatred of sour cream than its particular application here).

Yeah, I've been rather excited about this one but become less so with every trailer I've seen which has the leads Actually Talking. Will probably check it out anyway just for its uniqueness, but I've had my enthusiasm dampened.

Wouldn't he be more like a drug trafficker?

Hah, not quite so stupid as that, at least - I think it was some largeish number of biscuits, which he'd been intending to take to a picnic or something.

A friend of mine once accidentally busted a KFC employee who was selling weed, by happening to order what they thought was their clever codephrase.

Yeah, you won't really miss anything if you skip this one. It's actually a far better movie that Prometheus was, IMO, but it's unfortunately just bland as hell. Prometheus was at least memorably terrible; Covenant more or less evaporated from my mind by the time I was back home from the theater.

I enjoy Gaiman's Stardust, but I also thought the movie was a delight. It feels like a fantasy movie from the 80s, and I mean that in a good way.

Someone's forcing you to stay to watch post-credits scenes in movies you go to? Who? How are they restraining you?

I know I'm quite late to this conversation, but wanted to wait until I'd had a chance to watch a few before responding. Thanks for posting your criticisms! I do agree with most of what you'd said, though it appears that I do fall under the umbrella of your "average viewer" in that most of it doesn't actually bother

Yeah, I thought Sandi was perfect for QI, actually. After hearing that she'd be the replacement it made total sense. I noticed there were fewer klaxons than in previous seasons, I wonder if that's anything to do with the host changeover.

Those bastards, I actually sort of want to watch this now. I love Sandi and Noel, and will generally watch them in just about anything. A good move on Channel 4's part, IMO.

Yeah, I was pretty underwhelmed with both movies too, alas. There was one scene from Hellboy 2, I think, that I absolutely loved, though - when Abe's trying on the googles what Show You Things As They Actually Are or whatever, and he ends up panning past Hellboy, and in the vision of the goggles, Hellboy's horns are

(slow clap)

Whereas I only listen to bands which don't have anybody in them.

Obligatory link to HISHE:

More organs means more human!

That… sounds rather amazing, how did I miss this?
