I love worst of lists, but I have to admit that I don’t see how a lot of these movies could be considered the worst movies of 2018 when Vox Lux is still out there... existing.

Not arguing, just hoping for some clarity, as my google search returned nothing useful - I thought he got banned for saying that he “understood Hitler” or something? Did he get banned from Cannes a second time and I just missed it?
A lot of people do that with Community now, and there are still plenty of people, on this very site, commenting on this very show, that already are saying it about TGP. I didn’t mean EVERYONE, I just met that as pop culture tends to do, there will be an inevitable backlash, and people will say disparaging things about…
I was just going to post almost this exact thing - they’re interviews on here are pretty much hands-down the funniest thing this site has ever produced. I have never laughed out loud while reading an interview prior, and I ‘lol’ed SEVERAL times while reading the ones on here.
It’s actually better than I remembered it being - that is, if you like things that are explicitly “meta”, which I know many people hate, and I love.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is amazing as well, easily one of the top five best comedies of the decade, IMHO. Although I feel like it’s unfair to define it as just a comedy, as it’s more, ahem, nuanced than that (Sorry, I couldn’t resist) - but if we must categorize things, and for some reason I must - I suppose ‘comedy’ will…
I did not know they had a new season. That is awesome news.
The show I was referring to, as stated in another comment, was Great Minds with Dan Harmon. The episodes were all Adult Swim length (I actually wonder if it was a failed AS pilot, considering the ties Harmon has to them ala Rick and Morty) and you can watch most, if not all of them here: https://vrv.co/series/GYXJ0G0M6…
It is indeed the internet... But thanks for defending my comment, I appreciate it!
Hey that’s cool man, didn’t mean to be smug or condescending - like I said, I was only trying to be playful in my comment.
Same here
I know this will sound completely nerdy, but I don’t really care - but isn’t it great to find someone who shares your exact, or almost-exact, viewpoint on... well, anything? It’s such a life affirming feeling.
I agree with this completely. Community will perhaps be known after all is said and done for being, if nothing else, a truly groundbreaking show, industry wise. It will probably never get credit for it outside of people on the internet like us. I hope it does, but so it tends to go.
This is where the feels the show gives me tends to come from, I believe. Well articulated.
That is a completely fair and sober view re: my creativity comment.
HarmonQuest was fun. But it was surprisingly less about Harmon than it was about the people around him to me, much like the Harmontown podcast itself, from which they took the show. Harmon is a great writer, but when off script he rambles quite a bit. Which doesn’t really bother me that much (mostly because I do that …
Yes! And the Shakespeare episode had one of the funniest, most Dan Harmon-y lines of all time - right before the first commercial break he ‘introduces’ the episode by saying “tonight, the greatest writer in the history of the english language meets... William Shakespeare”
That a good point, and I guess I can only respond that while both shows are genre-re-defining and ambitious in their own way, I am giving the edge to TGP only because it’s being ambitious in terms of the scope of its story in a way that I can’t even think of too many dramatic series attempting. It concerns the actual…
it’s the ‘feel things’ part that really surprises me the most, I think. Now, I’m no stranger to getting teary eyed at all sorts of odd things, but the characters on the Good Place make me feel like cheering aloud for them. It makes me think - “huh, this is what people who cheer for sports teams must feel like.”…
(Accidently posted this in another thread - reposting here as this is where I intended to post it originally)
