Flying Lotus. Universally lauded by critics, and seemingly loved sufficiently to broach the mainstream in a meaningful way (GTA, anyone?); stylistically would appear to be exactly the sort of artist I usually enjoy hugely. But I just don't get it. I try and try, but to no avail. Tracks are too short to leave a lasting

Agreed. I've gone to reply to many prior comments to fight Radiohead's corner, but you've hit the nail on the head. I got into The Bends in my teens shortly after it's release and haven't looked back.

Four words: I Might Be Wrong

Agreed. I know I'm supposed to like him, and that I'm meant to stroke my chin at the alleged intelligence of his lyrics. But his music is pedestrian, and I'm having none of it frankly.

Moonrise Kingdom was billed by the UK press as "a Wes Anderson film that will appeal to those who don't like Wes Anderson films". That was a complete piss-take, as it seemed to me to be the complete embodiment of everything Wes Anderson. Grand Budapest was elevated by Fiennes (hardly the first film to be so, however).

What once described music released on a smaller, so-called independent, record label now simply seems to mean anything with a guitar by a British band.

I was going to post somewhere or other about Wes Anderson, but I simply can't pass by a comment outlining hatred for Mumford & C*nts without agreeing whole-heartedly. The fact they are even considered "indie" is dismaying.
