I tried the "ignore" tactic, then the "tell teachers," then "ignore" again. Nothing worked and I had a target on my back all through middle school. It lessened in high school, though, possibly because I found other weirdos to hang out with. No one goes after you as much when you have the protection of a group.
I was waiting for him to gouge his eyes out Oedipus style, with how subtle this show is.
I don't know what to tell you. I enjoyed her character and thought she was way better than the trailer made her out to be. I think she was served way better than Ernie Hudson was as a ghostbuster. Perhaps you should tweet all this to Leslie.
Possibly because Leslie Jones did not have a problem with it. Google Leslie Jones and MTA and you'll get lots of quotes from her on it.
Having seen it, Patty got way more screen time and good jokes than Winston did and had way more impact on the plot. She's also presented as well-read and an amateur historian. The character was written for McCarthy before they switched her to Abby because she'd played the type a few times before.
I think Chris is my favorite. He has this mixture of intensity and apathy that's almost Ron-Swanson-esque. I'm so jazzed they're friends!
I giggled so hard at people rioting while holding hankies to their mouths. Like they wouldn't all be at home, sealing all the windows and doors and whining.
Just as we all should.
I almost wish she'd said batbleep, but it might have been too self referential.
I thought his underwear was supposed to be the famous red speedo from Sleepless.
I also love how it had him immediately taking on man instincts. In every man-to-monster tale, the person becomes all wolf/rat/cat-like with no preamble, so it was kind of genius of Morgan to have the same thing apply in reverse!
I'm so excited for a Darin Morgan episode. He's left such an imprint on me that I sometimes forget he did only 4.5 episodes. Gah! I'm gonna watch it twice. I know it!
I was wondering who Deborah Burton was. LOL
That's definitely true, as long as people adjust their expectations and aren't all "Stardom or nothing!," they can just take whatever exposure they had and put in the work to build a career.
I think everyone in the top levels always deserves to be there, but there's more the audience isn't seeing. There are way more good singers than are showed and they pick and choose what footage to show of people, singing or behind the scenes. No one has any control over how they're portrayed.
Nothing kills a voice like a lack of sleep. And I am assuming heroin doesn't help much, either. ;)
"Yeah well, there’s a psychological aspect to that show, for sure. Like I remember the Hollywood week they kept us so busy and we didn’t sleep a lot, so when you see everybody crying and super-stressed out, it’s because they got like eight hours of sleep in four days."
Clueless is definitely still the best modern Emma. You should check out the 2009 miniseries of Emma. I thought Romola Garai really hit the mark and Michael Gambon played the hypochondriac version of her father in way that was lovable, instead of annoying for the first time.
I'd rather they just had Emma Approved vids online, same as LBD, only with the premise of it being a lifestyle vlog. It would have made plenty of sense. Then again, I don't know if that would have made it more watchable. I gave up about 2/3 of the way through. The characters/actors just didn't have as much charisma as…
