They’re remaking Fruits Basket?? I think I might have to watch that out of sheer nostalgia! It was one of the very first anime I ever watched! I can’t really remember it being great, but I’ll give it a chance for certain...
Link’s Awakening was my first Zelda as well! It was the only one my dad found for my birthday after asking for “the Zelda game” which I’d heard was good (I’d never stumbled across the concept of multiple games in a series). I never finished it because I found it too hard... really looking forward to it.
I was literally going to cave in and buy DQXI on the PS4 tomorrow to play over the weekend. I’m very much waiting for the Switch version now.
Thank GOD. I understand people loved him but I play light characters and he was a bloody beast to defeat...
It does look tight, Arianna.
Thanks, had no idea. That’s interesting!
Brian, honest question about animism - do you honestly think that has anything to do with her technique or ideas?
Hah, yes, those! Most definitely called chips over here, hence the place where you get them called “the chippy”
French fries, the fat ones that come with the fish in “fish and chips”.
In the north of England they have “London Pizza”. I had no idea what that meant, so I texted all my Londoner friends who of course had no idea what the hell a London Pizza was.
I’ve always used Zelda/Sheik or Peach because I love princesses, pretty much, but Zelda was my main.
Good try J! But after seven years I’m pretty sure it’s legally mine! Squatters rights or something.
True story, Katamari Damacy is the one gift from an ex that I refuse to throw away.
And in the image at the top, like some disturbing flesh monster...
Hahah yes, what doesn’t kill you makes you into the owner of the roundest boobs of the west! (East. Far East?)
Is what I was gonna say... in many cases we have a case of damn sexy censoring. Weird.
Yes indeed! I mean, without getting into a discussion of teenagers and sex (they like it and have it, and yet we should be careful not to sexualise them in media), you’d think people would agree that sexually risque games starring clearly underaged girls shouldn’t be a forgiven as “moe” or whatever excuse you wanna…
This series has stumbled into similar problems for as long as I can remember. I think I recall Takaki once explaining in conference that the problem was that the moe aesthetic was usual and accepted in Japan, but the Western world didn’t get it and thought it was creepy instead.
Where I live, in England, there is a huge community of Greeks. Not a day goes by when I don’t hear Ela, maláka! shouted from a window.
