Omg, yes. It’s an anime plot in an anime world - all of the FF games are. When you start making them look realistic the result is tonally jarring and obnoxious.

Lol here I fully need to admit I’ve my own nostalgia helmet on for FFXII, and I remember some of the voice acting fondly. Balthier and Fran, only. Oh, and the fact that they actually tried to use different accents for different regions!

I know! They were so grainy and static! But man the first time I saw them I couldn’t believe it!

Yup, this is gonna be for my 15yo nephews who just finished FFXV and kinda liked it.

Yup, that’s exactly how I wish they’d do it!

If I remember correctly, XII went through production issues and got saddled with bloody Vaan and Penelo when in the first drafts the main character was either Balthier or Basch. I would’ve loved to see the game remain that way, because I actually love those two characters and was interested in their stories.

They’re not my favourite, for sure. Blocky and stiff. FFVI looks better. But to be honest I hate even more the overly-polished K-pop style of more modern FF (X, XIII, XV) so I’m not looking forward to this particular update.

OMG this is the cutest thing in the world. Pixel art is how I’m going to do my wedding invites if I can ever be bothered to marry the BF (look I love him but organising a wedding seems haaard).

I’m wondering how much we’ll truly want this by the time it comes out. I know it will sell bucketloads, but at the same time... will we end up wondering why did we want it?

I was about to start doing exactly this because I want the fullest beard in the universe for my Arthur. Now I think I might not bother...

This household has been celebrating Civ VI on the Switch since that “leaked”, if there’s any official footage we might have to call in sick tomorrow.

It’s a massage wand, you guys, totally innocent!

And about time.

I quite like the idea of the matches in Splatoon being sort of the equivalent of just hanging out in a park after schook and getting more and more convoluted out of tradition, the way playground games evolve.

Look, I came here to get angry if Pokio wasn’t on first place, but it is, and so my world is at peace.

I would not mind that at all. Skipping between different sides of the story (maybe even between opposing factions, so there is no absolute bad-guy) could make a great narrative.

This looks great! More of a real-battle look rather than a couple of characters standing in a field hitting each other with swords. It’s as though the camera is focusing on your hero’s actions in the middle of the battlefield.

On the “Show them your scars” bit - into how much of a warning tale should you make your scars?

I very much feel you, as much as this is wild and cool and it excites me, it’s just not for me. It’s got nothing to do with our age, I think - it’s just what we’re willing to spend time on, or what counts as “fun” for us. I know a couple of guys that go to the local Lego Club every month and that will be pre-buying

I have been watching/reading Gintama for the last twelve years so there’s no way in hell I’m missing the last arc. The last few haven’t disappointed, I’m honestly surprised they still manage to get in so many stupid jokes (best jokes) in the middle of the drama, revelations of the past, and action. I’m beyond pumped.
