I only found out about a harassment situation at a former workplace of mine years later. I knew both of the people involved, too. It’s usually HR policy not to discuss any details. Some people knew more than I did, but in most workplaces spreading that kind of info around is a fireable offense.

Eh... people honestly don’t know. It’s part not wanting to know, but predators camouflage themselves pretty good. Also people who know the truth sometimes hide it to protect others. Several abrupt moves in my past came up in conversation with my mom recently and I was blindsided by a few things.

Oh I agree it’s essentially pointless in terms of actual productive governing (I’m British), but what it’s perfect for is grilling a person to see if it’s all front and bullshitting, or they actually know gritty details of issues. - it becomes obvious.
