Agreed.  HLOTS was The Wire before we had The Wire.

Homicide may be my all time favorite cop drama; I view it in many ways as superior to the later Wire.  Definitely give it a go.

I will join you on that hill, because Homicide is absurdly underrated and Kotto deserves as much credit as Braugher for his fantastic performance.

He was fantastic.  A hill I am prepared to die on is the “Homicide” was the first prestige drama  on TV, and set the stage for The Sopranos and The Wire (duh). Consistently outstanding, and oftentimes fucking shattering.  It was an amazing show for broadcast television.  I can watch Andre Braugher interview suspects…
