We need a guide to avoid the presidential debate (more specifically people rambling about it everywhere on and off the internet) ala ‘How to avoid the NFL’ Sunday guide.

No, I’m advocating treating lying like it is against the rules of the debate. A referee will step in, pause a fight, and announce a penalty if a boxer throws a rabbit punch; the other boxer is not responsible for pointing the rabbit punch out to the judges.

I don’t care about that! The reason to tell the truth is not that it might accomplish some strategic political goal like defeating a particular candidate. The reason to tell the truth is that it is the truth.

LeBatard is the best thing on ESPN and still a hell of a writer. Perhaps nobody more qualified in the world to communicate the impact of this young man’s death to the rest of us. Today sucks.

They’re also reporting that Arnold Palmer may not make the cut at the Ryder Cup, so I really think Yahoo looks for euphemistic ways to report bad news. Like the old punchline, “Your mom is on the roof and she won’t come down.”

Even as a die-hard Cubs fan, I consider myself lucky to have lived in SoCal for 5 years as a teenager so I could listen to many of the Dodger games he called. There’ll never be anybody better, and glad the Dodgers gave him a thrilling final broadcast at Dodger Stadium. Thanks for everything Vin :)

I’m not religious myself, but I come from a family of pretty progressive Christians (One of whom is a pastor) who are all pro-LGBT, anti-discrimination in any form, pro social justice/equality, treating everyone with respect and kindess, and all that other “treat others the way you would hope to be treated” stuff.
