So... they’re both inspired by Zelda.

Not all heroes wear capes...

Fair point- that said, I feel like you can always got to be prepared for people to try and play the model minority card- e.g. “Latinx doctors don’t complain about it, why should you?”

Interesting too is that Romero’s first zombie movie actually had the humans winning- in that, literally, white militias banded together to kill all the zombies and ‘save’ their country, and, in the process, killing the black protagonist. Curious that zombie fiction nowadays is apocalyptic- seems like it might directly

I’m curious about the relatively low rate among latinx doctors- I suspect the number is misleading- it doesn’t differentiate between white latinx and nonwhite latinx respondents. I’d wager the majority of latinx doctors are white latinx (Ted Cruz-type Cuban-Americans, for instance).

I’ll always have a debt to this book; I grew up in a very white place (South Minneapolis) and reading her book in high school was the first time I was able to understand my loneliness racially.

Yeah I grew up in a pretty Muslim area (Twin Cities) and the NOI/5 Percenters are not even remotely considered a real form of Islam. The idea that Allah has chosen another prophet is pretty heretical.

You really think Roxanne Gay needs schooling on the nature of race in the US? Really?

Lol it’s actually promotional art by Nintendo for the DLC

This is some Littlefinger “chaos is a ladder” type of bull shit.

Great article! I was actually just doing some research on respectability politics in the writings of black queer female scholars a few months ago. Evelyn Hammonds is a great person to read if anyone in the comments wants more insight into these issues.

This and Dem Thrones are the greatest GoT supplement ever

In fairness to Nintendo, this is actually the standard way of dealing with this sort of issue across any device. It just happens to be tedious.

Idk if the Wildlings are rednecks- they and the north were the same back in the day- they’d be like Africans facing colonization (the wall and the watch).

One thing, which would be that class and race are not neatly separatable. You can’t separate black poverty from anti-black policing, for instance (imagine how much potential black wealth has been lost to mass incarceration). Furthermore, one of the most common vehicles of wealth generation is home ownership, but

As a Japanese-American, i’d like to take this time to say ‘fuck you’ to all Weebs and Otaku.

Cage strikes me as a bit of a tragic figure; a mediocre artist who desperately wants to be greater than he is.

I know I’m pretentious about Hip Hop, but come on, when has mumble rap actually enhanced a song? I’m not saying no mumble rap bangs, but can you name a single song by a real lyricist where you thought to yourself “Damn, this could have been so much better if they had just mumbled two or three words over and over
