Joss Whedon had fem-nerds criticizing him for years. Since Buffy. There have been so many breakdowns of how his stories are problematic, long before this - we never held him up as a paragon in that regard, or at least not all of us did. It’s more a mantle he took for himself after some good buzz.

I mean really? But I do want to know how does my household become a church so I can stop paying taxes as well? My followers and ”employees” are my husband and child. Our place of worship is our home. Our beliefs are that you can believe in whatever you want as long as it doesn’t impact anyone else negatively. Also you

A former first lady of the United States of America and relentless proponent of family literacy

she was EXTREMELY problematic when it came to issues of race and prejudice

All this because two guys who didn’t buy anything at an establishment that exists to buy things, who then were asked to leave, then didn’t, then got arrested.

Shocking. Jez is shitting on a white woman. Something that would shock the assholes on the root. White women are not the enemy and we white Women put up with so much bull shit.

My my next door neighbor and longtime best friend of over 20 years used to be the department manager of electronics in the Janesville Walmart. Longtime fuck face and Janesville resident Paul Ryan happened to drop in there I believe this was 5 or 6 years ago.

Also, just because the GOP now has to find a candidate to replace Ryan doesn’t mean that candidate is a lock to lose. It’s probably going to be a trained politician in a midwestern state up against one of two non-politicians.

I live in paul ryan’s hometown, and let me fucking tell you, he is every bit the troll, gremlin, goblin, creep, fuckface you imagine him to be.

One major point, Bryce or ironstache, isn’t the dem candidate. There’s still an active primary and he refuses to debate the other candidate, Cathy Myers, and has backed out of scheduled events with her.

You wouldn’t know it from the reporting surrounding the race, but Randy Bryce still has to win the primary, and his opponent is Cathy Myers. She’s a really good candidate and gets forgotten because Bryce attached his cart to Sen. Sanders. Check her out.

There is no guarantee Dems will win the House and/or Senate. We need to get involved - donate, calls, hit the streets. Sitting back and hoping the GOP is just going to implode is NOT going to be enough.

My first reaction: this is fantastic, good fucking riddance.

This is the same for every field. It is in libraries. If it’s that way in libraries I know for damn sure it must be in the private sector.

I think it’s a cultural thing, as in, which culture you’re raised in. My father’s family are Italian and we all learn to cook in that family (we’re talking the real deal, no meatballs-and-spaghetti, carbonara-is-the-work-of-Satan-herself), whilst my mother’s family are...well...limited.

it’s kind of a “history repeats itself” thing. I know my grandparents (WWII generation) couldn’t cook worth a damn either. meat was always well done (or else you’re gonna be good and done!) no seasonings other than a lot of salt and ground black pepper so old it was flavorless. And occasionally vinegar. and I’m

Barry Levinson just texted Micheal McKean and asked him to keep his calendar free.

Just pictured Arya threatening to kill someone on the subway for manspreading.

Note that they were talking to a farmer in Vermont. Farmers there are odd. They want to preserve the environment, but still use whatever chemicals and techniques they want. They want subsidies and handouts, but also use migrant workers with dubious immigrant status who they employee illegally and have sleep in sheds

History is a funny thing. 75-100 years ago farmers were socialists. The Mid-West, especially the Great Plains was full of socialist messaging and that led to farmer co-ops and pushing for the Rural Electrification Act during FDR’s term. I don’t know all the particulars as to why it changed so much the other direction.
