Rick already knows, just like he knew what would happen if he didn't clear his family (and sigh, Jerry) as aiding and abetting before being 'captured'.

I wish I had a pleasant memory of shooting him with a gun.
Let the speculation on Rick's escape begin. I say he gets sprung by the League of Ricks!
Nah, they started season 2 right where they left off and seem to be pretty square (outside of still screwing with us about Mr. Poopybutthole who is now a meta-character and who I actively loathe.)
So, I see some people still kind of banging on season 2 but I'd like to put forth why I think it was a resounding success.
So the first season to me was where they didn't know if they'd get a second chance so they took all these great ideas and the took the ones they could develop into full episodes and ran with that…
I liked the episode and I especially liked that Tammy turned out to be a deep agent. although they kind of telegraphed a raid was going to go down with Birdperson's exposition, she being part of that was a blindside.
Random:
- Squanch Bane, I love it, he was molded by the Squanch.
- The Cobb world reveal immediately…
It's in character. Of the things we know about Rick, we know he's nihilistic and despite being so, he cares about his family (excluding Jerry, who benefits indirectly).
So, YES, he could easily think of some way to escape.
BUT, why bother? He cares about nothing, everyday life meaningless to him. He's lost the few…
They didn't know that earth would be so different, they didn't have any agency in this at all. Rick arranged for them to be returned. And given that their only viable option was isolation on that podunk planet, they'll just have to roll with it.
You missed his financial advisor's rant? PB blew all of his money on stupid investments and ventures. Evidently he blew more of it faster on more costly and numerous and dumber ideas once he hooked up with todd and his … ah … toddfoolery.
More like, honeydon't!
Get it? Did you get it? Honey! Don't! You get it, right?
I think I can help.
Imagine you, as you are now, move into a house. Now, imagine that at first, you feel great. Spiffy digs, everything is cool. Except, you start having weird thoughts. Almost like dementia. Your mood, you can't seem to control it anymore. And it's more than you're happy when you don't have a reason to…
Nah.
They've shown that she's sort of intrigued by Morty. She doesn't seem at all put off by the pretty weird shit she's witnessed and actually they appeared moving toward some sort of intimate moment when they encountered squanchy squanching.
On the other hand, they've shown that she is fairly approachable, so she…
There are some great comments and insights, so don't deprive yourself. I've just noticed there is a reliable stream of people, not many, but a a steady 2-3 who have what I consider to be misplaced expectations. It's a mark of how good R&M is, but it's annoying to keep reading variations of "it didn't blow my mind or…
I think, due in no small part to the effusive praise heaped on R&M S1, people expect each episode to be this courageous, relevatory experience. They should adjust their expectations to just being entertained and sometimes surprised and sometimes challenged even taken aback. But please don't tune in with expectations…
That's going to happen often that there will be similar tropes in play. How they use those tropes is what will differ.
Your argument is muddled. A stand-in for our inner naturally selfish and therefore capitalist child is reducing a sci-fi trope to a neo-liberal carnival. Are you proud of that analysis? You can do better, I'm confident.
cool, I stopped watching after season 1, although more because of schedule issues than being turned off the series. OTOH, nothing compelled me to watch it on demand either.
If they wrap the series with a successful and coherent explanation of all that has happened, I may revisit it.
no evidence, he didn't have a time crystal in that time frame. For that matter, even if he were Rick, he wouldn't have known why he was getting his ass kicked.
Those guys seem like bottom-tier schmoes. They may be 4-D but they aren't the geniuses of their species.
I think its just easier to assume Summer was lying and that any cleanup they were doing was related to byproduct of whatever hijinks RM&S have been up to with time frozen.
This wasn't the plot of the source material at all and is basically lifted from a graphic novel called Girls.
