...yeah. Like I have said repeatedly, I don’t disagree. Why are we fighting?

What part about “I don’t personally think this is at all a good idea but I can see how others might think a small industry presence could be a good thing” don’t you understand? I value the scientific method above all else. We’re on the same damn side. I’m simply trying to also understand (non-extreme) conservative…
I could see how conservatives could think it would be for the public good (if industry can more easily implement regulation, that’s definitely a public good).
Yep. Which is far from the conservative value of yore of conservation/environmental protection... Oh how things have changed.
Yeah, I can’t fault them for not physically reading the bill in its entirety. That’s what their staffers are for. But to overlook the parts that directly affect their constituents (which they did) is, to put it very mildly, irresponsible, cruel, and dumb.
Look, I also don’t think it’s “needed.” I’m a flaming liberal, after all. All I’m saying is that I can see why a normal, non-Trumpian conservative administration would think it might be a good idea to do so within reason.
Yeah. I wouldn’t count on the Senate to save the day, sadly. Call your senators, everyone!
I get what you’re saying, trust me. As a federal scientist, my agency gets shat on by conservatives for doing “biased” science when we really take rigorous measures to ensure that our data are as bias-free as humanly possible. But industry reps, specifically those with scientific or technical expertise, could…
Ok. So from a conservative/pro-business perspective, I can understand appointing 1 or 2 industry reps to serve on the advisory board, where they would work alongside scientists and policy experts from the EPA. I would oblige a conservative executive branch that; it’s reasonable. But this horseshit is fucking criminal.…
This is amazing. I am also feeling angry-motivated by your poster. Good luck on the bar!!!
I’m no expert but I’m not sure there’s a lawsuit to be had here. FOIA requests are probably the only plausible recourse at this time.
I’m a federal environmental scientist. Our only agenda is keeping the American people and our natural resources as safe as possible by doing the best science we can. I’m sorry you’re so good at psychological projection. :)
What’s your larger point here? I can’t understand it from the false equivalency.
I’m not sure. If so, I wouldn’t expect them to make the website easily accessible or visible. Thankfully there are groups of benevolent hackers working to create copies of federal science websites and databases that are stored on Canadian servers.
Here is your periodic reminder that you and I, US taxpayers, already paid for the previously publicly-available data that has now been deleted from the EPA website. Pruitt and 45 literally just stole our access to goods and information that we had long paid for, right out from under our noses.
I miss Secretary Jewell.
Teddy Roosevelt is rolling over in his grave at the current state of the GOP.
I groaned. But good job.
At the Seattle March. Yes, the “resist” side has functioning string lights. I’m a nerd.
Oh you have got to be fucking kidding me, he got off?!?!
