Ditto. My non-geek mother has been burdened with three mega-geeky children, and has spent years resolutely refusing to go down the rabbit hole with us.
I can imagine it’s got to do with switching in and out of the mindset. Not an actor, but I know that it’s a lot easier for me to write characters that are the good-ish guys. Getting my brain into villain POV—making them the hero of their own story—requires a lot more time to sink in to and come out of, and the more…
