Yeah, maybe the way they are treated is misogynistic (although it is more likely motivated by greed than by sex), but that doesn’t mean the profession itself is misogynistic. But whatever, semantics.
Well, first of all, I don’t think the profession is “misogynistic.” It is sexist, but I don’t think it is women-hating. Second, even if it is misogynistic, I’m not sure that justifies your individual misogyny, but whatever.
There’s a lot of pretty great misogyny in this post. Congratulations on that.
I’m not a lawyer, but I know that isn’t true. I was sued once. It never went to trial because they coukdn’t find an expert to say i did anything wrong. I still asked my lawyer about settling to make it go away because the whole thing was stressful.
I’m not saying they’re not guilty (it seems pretty clear in this case that they are), but a settlement is not necessarily an admission of guilt - it can also be a balancing between the costs of defending a litigation all the way through vs. the cost of settlement. You may think “Oh, well if they’re not guilty and they…
It’s not a joke. Our Twitter replies are full of gun nuts demanding to know when Obama will force background checks on cars.
then you would be wrong... I think we all know enough about drunk driving these days that we know that if you willfully get behind the wheel while drunk, you’re a human weapon. So yeah... trying.
As an Oklahoman, I can assure you all that my fellow residents are working tirelessly at this very moment to tie this into a defense of gun owners’ rights.
I would say drunk driving would categorize as trying to harm/kill others
Now that people have finally accepted the dangers of playing football in the NFL, I wonder if they’ll start doing similar studies on college and high school students, including those who play but don’t go professional. It’s entirely possible that the things we see in NFL players are contributed to by brain trauma…
This is speculation, but I don’t disagree with you. Someone who had the forethought to bring a knife, terrorize the woman, threaten to kill her if she didn’t yield and then have the presence of mind to call his mom for help after fleeing the scene, is probably also someone who had an inkling of what he was doing, even…
An unidentified neighbor jumped to his defense, saying he isn't responsible for his actions. May as well have said boys will be boys. Give me a fucking break. He knew exactly what he was doing.
Yeah, that’s a really dumb statement in the article. It’s pretty obvious that her plan was to give birth in the United States, not in US airspace.
Since when can you decide “time to go into labor..... NOW!”
You know, they didn’t get a horse to direct Seabiscuit!
Okay true, Mark is pretty alright, even if he’s a little too married to Whedon for my tastes. I used to absolutely love Scarlett, but she’s a Woody Allen supporter. :(
You know, this might sound trivial, but it really pissed me off that Johansson sued that French author who wrote a book about a woman who looked like her. It seemed really, really petty and I haven’t been able to look at her the same way since.
Of course anyone can be sued for anything by some random guy somewhere.
That’s such an obvious and implied statement as to be rendered moot. He might as well just add that text in italics in front of every article he writes.
