Do you pay a subscription or something? If you don’t want to read an article, don’t read it. Jalopnik et al owe none of us anything because this shit is free. Free to read, free to ignore.

I have a great idea for a new youtube channel: me kicking the shit out of Youtube celebrity assholes. Who’s in?
VW should refresh and build their Microbus concept from the early ‘00s. Because, c’mon, a company who could produce this couldn’t be all that bad now, could they?
ABS should always be disabled if you do any off-roading in the snow (esp. downhill). Locked wheels will dig in and allow you to build up a wedge of vehicle-stopping snow. Usually there’s an electrical connector plugged into / around your brake fluid res. Unplug it. If your ABS light comes on, good job!
I always thought AUS was expensive. It gets worse. Buy a new Mustang or Camaro in Norway and bring a check for over $100k just for the taxes. (A Base Corvette would probably be closer to $200k). We’ve got it great in the states!
“30 miles there, 30 miles back. That gives us 20 minutes of juice to play around in that field, so long as Jim makes it up the stairs on the first take.”
Jeep Compass w CVT. I drove one cross country and can recommend it only under the following circumstances:
Never thought the word ‘historic’ could be used in a way that might cause nausea.

“A large Li-ion fire, such as in an EV, may need to burn out as water is ineffective.”
I don’t know about the chemicals in Tesla’s batteries, but the chemicals in some cells ignite when in contact with air, giving firemen a lesson in chemistry when trying to extinguish with water.
If ‘everything was all the same’ the patent office wouldn’t grant a patent in the first place. And hell, if ‘everything was all the same’ there’d be no need for an aftermarket. Differences don’t cease to exist just because the average person doesn’t understand them; and just because something isn’t obvious doesn’t…
I’ve read several studies that show an inversely proportional relation between sleep and life expectancy. Participants who slept more than 8 hrs a day experienced a significant increase in mortality. When you factor in the greater probability of accidental death while awake vs. sleeping, it’s rather startling how…
I bought a Spot tracker to prevent this kind of thing from happening. Of course, I also don’t drive like an idiot on the street, but shit can still happen.
Go even more bare bones with a one-wheel drive KTM Duke 390 and still have $5000 left over.
“Flappy Paddles” is a metonymy (or even a transferred epithet), not a misnomer. “Flappy” refers to the limp wristed wrist of the guy driving the car.
Damn that was quick.
