I think Pixels is a perfect reference for the tone that they went for with this movie. Watching the original it had a dry, smart humor and it was a movie first. A weird, kind of dark and self-serious, but not straight comedy. This looks like typical slapstick and SNL reject jokes.

A back-road is just another public street which you have no idea what’s around the next bend. Calling it a “back-road” doesn’t make it okay to street-race. Spirited driving, sure, but racing on the streets - any street - isn’t okay anywhere.
